Here at fogey central, my musical tastes run from classical to jazz to rock. A little bit of country thrown in for good measure. (Emphasis on “little”.) For the past several years I have been listening to alternative rock and the blues. In our little corner of Florida you will find 97X (97.1) on the radio. To this day they tout themselves as “the new alternative”, however, now... at least in my opinion, not so much. But I digress. When the station first started the alternative format they started yearly concerts called “The Next Big Thing”. These shows bring together what are the up and coming acts of the day.
When NBT3 rolled around, there was an auction for an autographed guitar a few days after the show. Somehow, someway, the planets aligned, the stars shown, the good Lord took pity on my rock and roll soul...I won!
